I'm positive. [He eats a bite, then adds:] It reminds me of the clothes I saw in Sharlayan. Not the big white robes with the hat, but pretty much everything else looked a bit like this. I can't say I disapprove of corsets either, but I don't see as many of those here.

[Amal tends to wear only the corset when it's an option. God, that purr is distracting though. It makes him want to rub against Raha like a cat unironically.]

Pretty much. It feels a bit more engaging, when you're trying to solve it along with the characters. At least to me.

[Too bad. They can figure out costumes later.]

I think you're onto something with that. I saw a stage play many moons ago, when I first got here. It was a murder mystery and a bit lacking in budget, but it was fun. It also had songs. Songs! In a play about murder! Amazing.

[He waves his empty fork.]

They didn't reveal the killer until the very end, but they had us cheering for them all the same.

[He takes a drink of water and sits back again.]

I tend to prefer adventures or romances if I'm given a choice. I've a weakness for the ones involving a prince atop a white chocobo. Or... horse. Whichever.

A musical murder mystery? That does sound fun. [man he actually hasn't really gone to any local shows while he's been here... it's not exactly been a priority, unfortunately.]

I can see that. [He chuckles softly, looking fondly over to him.] Are you the type to picture yourself in them at all?

[His cheeks turn some shade of scarlet, and he glances off to the side.]

I spend so much time playing the hero that I suppose when it comes down to it, I wouldn't mind being swept off my feet for once.

[Amal looks back over to see that smile, and can't help blushing a bit more.]

Before I went to the First, I didn't think that could ever... happen. [He sets his food on the coffee table and leans back.] I thought—if I messed up and needed rescuing, no one would come after me. Either because they couldn't, or...

[He thought he was disposable.]

Well. I didn't think too highly of myself, as you can guess.

So it was a little wild to find out that someone would break the laws of time and space just to help me. [He reaches over to rub Raha's hand.] Though I'd have done the same for you, no question about that.

In a way, the you from the past really did sweep me off my feet. I landed in the middle of the woods instead of naked in your chambers, but that's a minor detail.

I am fairly certain that your first act upon being summoned to a new world by an apparent stranger would not be to strip.

That cute little button nose. Soft lips begging for a kiss. And someone who was scarred just like me...

[He hums thoughtfully.]

In a different world, we could've been a fun kind of disaster. But I was too much of a coward, and we were both married to our duties. Maybe it's better that the pieces fell differently.

[He'll kiss that ear as consolation, though.]

[Raha will decidedly not point out that he'd been planning on dying for most of that time and therefore proooobably would have rebuffed anything anyway. Probably. If he was strong enough.

He does smile a little, looking back up at Amal.]

It all worked out in the end, either way.

[Is anyone strong enough to resist a naked man in their bed? Amal had wondered. But never could do that, not with his past.]

It did. And I wouldn't trade this for anything.

[He leans in and bumps their noses in a little bunny kiss, then chuckles. He would like a real one, but if Raha is occupied by food he doesn't want to attack his mouth. That would be rude. So he gives Raha the opportunity to decide where this is going, merely letting his fingertips linger on the Miqote's cheek.]

We'll always find each other.
